How do you “feel” about your brand and its future?

How do you "feel" about your brand and its future?

People start businesses for all sorts of reasons. Freedom to be their own boss being a prime one. Making a mark on the world is another, as is to achieve a better work/life balance. I think of an entrepreneur as being anyone who chooses to work for themselves, from freelancing in any industry through to creators of extensive businesses. Often freelancers don’t see themselves in this light but when you are responsible for your own income, you are in effect YOU Plc.

Your brand – corporate and personal – sends messages to the world and we, the observers of your branding, make all sorts of judgements based upon what we see and from how we experience the brand when we engage with it.

Whatever the circumstances of your entrepreneurial activities, your brand is vital to the success of your enterprise even if your enterprise is a team of one. As human beings we respond to the best brands because they capture some aspect of our humanity and reflect it back to us. Why is this? Because these types of brands work with our emotions even more than with our rational judgement.

So, in relation to your current branding, how do you feel about it?

  • Do you love it?
  • Does it really represent you and what your business stands for?
  • Do you get fabulous comments about how good, or cool, your branding is?
  • Or do you dislike your branding, perhaps even to the point of being embarrassed about it?
  • Is branding not even something you’ve spent any time thinking about?!

(I hope nobody reading this would answer yes to that last two questions).

Seek external, experienced advice to get your branding really on message. It will make a powerful difference to how you and your business come across to your audiences. The surge of confidence great branding has on you, the business owner, will have a positive energising effect on your customers and potential customers too.

And why would you want to be a best kept secret anyway? You’re in business after all.
