One of the massive differences between a successful entrepreneur and a novice is the ability to spot a great business opportunity and many people believe that you have to have an amazing or original idea but I suspect fewer than 1% of all businesses start that way.

When I presented for the EBA at the recent seminar in the West End, I spoke about the concept of white-rooming as a tool for business FOCUS which is an area a lot of entrepreneurs struggle with, in the excitement of getting their venture off the ground.

The most profound thing I’ve learned about business, since setting out on my own path five years ago (blimey, it seems so much longer), is that surviving and thriving is a psychological and philosophical challenge, rather than a transactional or procedural one.
