Whilst visiting a client the other day I asked him on my arrival how he was and he proceeded to announce to all who would listen, “If today were a fish I’d throw it back”.

According to Wikipedia, funding is the provision of resources, usually in the form of money or other currency, such as the contribution made to a project by people who contribute their time and effort, and this is often referred to as ‘sweat equity’.
